Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a global organisation based in Basildon. Due to the coronavirus pandemic this position will initially be home based working until returning to the office approximately September 2021.The company:Since 1984, our client has existed to help people move money and information. Today, they are a global leader in payments and fintech, serving thousands of financial institutions and millions of businesses in more than 100 countries. The company helps financial institutions, businesses and consumers weather the financial impact of COVID-19 through an API to streamline underwriting of Paycheck Protection Program loans, technology to enable online ordering, and pre-paid VISA cards loaded with economic impact payments.The successful Payroll Administrator will:Reporting to the HR Operations Manager the Payroll Specialist is responsible for maintaining an efficient and compliant payroll process within the HR Operations department. The successful candidate requires an understanding of all payroll business processes including legislation and company policies. The payroll analyst must be able to, confidently investigate processes, validating data, identifying any gaps and providing solutions to remedy.The Payroll Administrator duties:

  • Ownership of the end to end payroll process including identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Assisting in the development and coaching of the other members of the Payroll Team
  • Accurately prepare and check payroll data for processing
  • Ability to complete manual payroll calculations where necessary
  • Ensure that payroll records and systems are maintained accurately
  • Ensure processes are followed in line with UK legislation and company policy
  • Compilation of payroll reports
  • Support of external and internal audits
  • Enrolling employees into local systems
  • Statutory and year end reporting
  • Day to day contact point with vendor
  • Provide subject matter expertise on payroll and related issues as required
  • Collaboration with the HR Team and HR Operations Team on various HR initiatives
  • The ideal candidate will:
  • Ideally CIPP Qualified
  • Previous experience of processing a large payroll
  • Ideally have experience of working on an internal payroll end to end
  • Experience of Workday is ideal but not essential
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience of time and attendance systems
  • Experience with payroll and HRMS systems, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Oracle
  • The ideal candidate will also have experience of managing other European payrolls and a second language (German, Polish, Dutch, Greek)
