As a Payroll Administrator, your role will be pivotal in overseeingintricate payroll processes and addressing inquiries. Youll play a central role in efficiently handling mid-month, weekly, and month-end payrolls, both manually and electronically.At Pathology First, we nurture a collaborative workspace and value our team members.   • Monthly Payroll Excellence: Work closely with HR Advisors to ensure seamless monthly payroll operations, overseeing the entire payroll cycle
  • Inquiry Expertise: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll queries, promptly resolving any payroll-related concerns that arise
  • Precision Management: Verify the accuracy of HR and financial data inputted into the payroll system
  • Pension Proficiency: Apply your understanding of NHS regulations and the companys Pension Scheme to administer pensions for both current members and scheme leavers
  • Thorough Pay Processing: Utilize your grasp of applicable terms and conditions to precisely process pay and pay variations
  • Payroll Guidance: Act as an authoritative resource on payroll matters, guiding and supporting the HR team, managers, and other stakeholders
  • Regulation Mastery: Stay updated on regulations regarding sick pay, maternity/paternity/shared parental pay, encompassing statutory and occupational obligations
  • Pension Liaison: Become the connection point between staff, NHS Pensions, and payroll, leveraging your knowledge of NHS and pension scheme regulations
  • Sickness Absence Management: Collaborate with HR Advisors for accurate sickness absence processing, submitting necessary documentation
  • Query Resolution: Handle pay-related inquiries, addressing topics like sick pay entitlement, unpaid leave, and casual arrangements
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate root causes of inaccurate pay, working with HR Advisors and managers to rectify issues, enhance processes, and prevent recurrence
  • Reporting Enhancement: Assist the HR team in developing new, effective, and accurate payroll reports
About you:Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Experience: Ideally, 2 years in a fast-paced payroll role
  • Statutory Knowledge: Profound understanding of statutory payments, including Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity SPP, PAYE, and National Insurance
  • Numerical Acumen: Strong numerical skills, including proficiency in manual payroll calculations
  • Excel Proficiency: Sound knowledge of Excel, encompassing formula creation, data manipulation, and report generation
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • NHS Environment: Experience within an NHS environment.
  • Payroll Software: Familiarity with iTrent or other payroll software.
