Job Description

Logistics Administrator – Basildon The Role One to One Personnel is excited to be working with our world leader client in transport and logistics who are looking for a Logistics Administrator.To be considered for this role you must have experience as an administrator within a logistics environment.Purpose of the Role Cargo Processing - To set up files, input data, check and distribute incoming paperwork in line with the company’s procedures, to satisfy client requirements.Warehouse - Liaise with the warehouse ensuring clients Service agreements are achieved.Customer Service - Liaise with clients to provide information and guidance relating to the logistics of their goods. Deal with customer queries. Ensure that all telephone calls are promptly and politely answered.Financial – Adhere to the Company credit control policies, accurate knowledge of charging.Ad-Hoc - Undertake reasonable requests in line with capability and competence from appropriate Supervisor / Manager.Roles and responsibilities

  • Undertake mandatory training as and when required
  • Provide support and on the job training to colleagues in your area as required
  • Participate in team building initiatives in your department
  • Contribute innovative ideas and commitment to maintain department engagement
  • Complete Professional Development Reviews (PDR’s) in conjunction with your line Manager, setting objectives and dealing with any concerns
  • Be an advocate to promote Company ethos, Employee Ownership, Awards and benefits i.e., pension, healthcare
  • Regularly review and update daily practice/procedures with your line Manager
  • Ensure you understand and are aware of up to date BIFA and Customs regulations
  • Ensure you understand and are aware of all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Work with your line Manager to reflect on role requirements to identify and action any areas of training/development
  • Develop excellent communication with staff through all forms of communication
  • Deal with any issues or concerns in a timely manner, escalating to your line Manager as required
What we are looking for
  • Fully PC literate on excel and word applications
  • Educated to GCSE/O’ level standard or equivalent
  • A high level of planning experience with regards to the importation of high-volume shipments from door to door for Ocean shipments
  • Knowledge of multi-modal import processes would be of benefit
  • Comprehensive Customs clearance knowledge
  • A high level of customer service skills
  • Procedure and SOP writing skills and ability to work within these
  • Result-oriented and driven to achieve goals and meet targets
  • Well organised
  • Good Knowledge of In-House Computer System
  • Knowledge of Customs Tariff and Procedures
  • Good Knowledge of Broker
  • Financial Awareness
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as the business requires
Job type: PermanentHours: 7:00am to 7:00pm (4 days on, 4 days off)Salary: £11.70phLocation: BasildonYou will be required to undergo a DBS check.
