Job Description

Our client is currently looking for an Ocean Import Supervisor to join their team. The role will report into the Branch Manager and will be working on LCL Ocean freight Imports Worldwide. The role is based at our clients premises which are centrally located in Basildon.Purpose of the role: To manage and oversee a small team of Ocean Import operators and work the Import process from start to finish via the in house system for all LCL Import operations.Duties will include:

  • Managing a small team of ocean import LCL operators
  • Take on your own workload in addition to managing the team.
  • Deal with Ocean freight consols
  • Track shipments and communicate progress to clients
  • Arrange to release cargo and liaise with UK warehouses and clearing agents to devan cargo after vessel arrival
  • Ensure your team has everything documented on the file and includes any relevant documentation, cost estimates, purchase invoices etc.
  • Ensure all operational issues are dealt with promptly and effectively making sure that everything is documented on the file and address any issues with management.
  • Make sure invoices are correct and paid and deal with any queries relating to them maximising profits.
    • You will need to have experience of working within ocean Import LCL container freight at a senior operator level and would ideally be looking for a supervisor role or you will already have management experience. You will be able to work in a fast pace working environment with good IT skills. Customer service skills is also an important part of the role and the ability to manage a team.Salary is negotiable depending on experience. Required skills
