Job Description

Our clients are currently looking for an Import Manager to head up their seafreight imports team. The role will be based at their Basildon office and you will report into the operations manager.Purpose of the role: To provide leadership and direction to the seafreight import team and oversee the smooth running of the operations within that team.Duties will include:

  • Provide training where necessary to the import operators within your team
  • You will be responsible for the running of various tradelanes within your team and so making sure that the team have a full understanding of their own tradelanes.
  • Ensure that the work between your team is evenly distributed.
  • Supplier management
  • Warehouse/Rent Rate negotiation
  • Report on monthly profit and loss figures
  • Liaison with Sales department
  • Any other duties required by the director
    • To be successful for the role you will need to have experience of ocean freight imports and have some experience of managing staff. You will need to have excellent organisational skills along and be highly customer focused.Salary £35/40k negotiable depending on experience Required skills
