Job Description

Export and Trade Compliance Manager- Defence Industry

  • Basildon site, hybrid working.
  • Day rate negotiable, dependent on experience. Inside IR35.
  • 12 month contract.
Key Accountabilities-
  • Understand and provide advice to the team for any new Government systems that may be implemented, recognising risk factors and resources required to ensure smooth transition when new systems are implemented.
  • Representing the function in new system developments for process and tool enhancements.
  • Oversee and implement regular communications on regulatory changes to ensure the information is disseminated to the wider business teams.
  • Oversee and manage Export Control and Trade Compliance training, developing a training needs analysis for the business areas to ensure Internal Project Teams (IPTs) and wider functions receive the required Trade Compliance input relevant to their projects.
  • Implement an internal capability certification process for other functions.
  • Implement performance measures and enhancement to quality checks for the Trade Compliance function.
  • Provision of guidance to the business in understanding, complying and applying the requisites of the companys Trade Control documentation.
  • Identify gaps in available information sources within the company, and implement solutions.
  • Conduct internal investigations into Export Control breaches.
Essential
  • Experienced export control/trade compliance practitioner with - Detailed knowledge of UK Export Licencing, including Trade Controls - Good working knowledge of foreign import / export regulations, particularly EU Member States and the US ITAR and US EAR,including US ITAR Agreements and General Correspondence / Retransfer requests under US and other export control regulations - Good working knowledge of UK/EU Customs regulations
Desirable
  • Awareness of, and general familiarity with, SAP ERP (ECC6 or S4/HANA)
