Job Description

Technical Development ManagerBarton-upon-Humber (Remote working available)£45,000 - £60,000 + Quarterly bonusCordant People are currently looking for a Technical Development Manager (PHP) to join the UKs largest bespoke Kitchen manufacturers. As a key manager, you are responsible for the delivery of new projects, additional features and required maintenance acrossallocated development teams.What are we looking for

  • At least 5 years experience in creating and managing PHP based systems
  • Thorough knowledge of PHP7, the Symfony framework, and associated libraries, and good awareness of the strengths and limitations of each of them
  • Proven experience in implementing, scaling and securing private and public facing RESTful APIs
  • Sound knowledge of MySQL (5|8)
  • Good appreciation of RDBMS and NoSQL solutions and their use-cases
  • Understanding of OOP and design patterns
  • Experience in Continuous Integration platforms and streamlining deployments
  • Held a similar role in a large IT Development team
  • Experience of IT project delivery through agile methodologies
  • Experience of leading bespoke web-based project delivery
  • Line Management experience
What will you be doing
  • Fully understand the business processes that the developed applications manage and facilitate
  • Oversee estimation of Tasks, ensuring consistency across teams
  • Oversee the process of requirements gathering and technical design, utilising relevant skills
  • Show thorough knowledge and ownership of development lifecycle, key milestones (sign-off etc) and quality gates
  • Improve efficiencies, oversee and drive delivery of multiple development project streams
  • Participate in deployment planning with key stakeholders
  • Ensure deployments are scheduled, executed and communicated as agreed
  • Undertake and understand the performance management and disciplinary procedures
  • Carry out reviews and appraisals to a high and appropriate level
  • Responsible for recruitment within allocated development teams
