Job Description

Domus currently have an excellent opportunity within the South Humberside area for a Head of Care. Working for this leading childrens care provider in the UK, this is an ideal role for someone with experience gained within the Childrens care sector.You will be managing a team of six House Managers.Working proactively to ensure the children within our care receive a quality, person centred service, the Head of Care will take on the role of Registered Manager for multiple homes where around 20 young people currently live, overseeing approximately 100 staffand with direct line management responsibility for the Deputy Registered Manager and up to 6 House ManagersThe Head of Care will be fully responsible for the operations, quality of care, safety and financial performance of those services in line with the groups vision, mission and values.Key Responsibilities of the Head of Care:

  • To monitor and provide advice regards health, fire & safety compliance. To support services to drive up the quality of the care environment to Outcomes First Group standards
  • To ensure all financial resources are managed appropriately and referrals process is aligned to meet occupancy targets
  • To ensure all services promote and meet all standards of safe practice, including recruitment, safeguarding / LADO referrals, risk management, bullying and exploitation.
  • To ensure that all services are driven to promote positive outcomes for you people and ensure progress and quality of care are planned for and thoroughly evidenced.
  • To ensure that all services invest in people and their well-being both formally and informally, personally and professionally via monitoring and feedback. To ensure that line management processes are followed effectively and all matter reports accordingly.
Head of Care Requirements:
  • To have at least 2 years experience as a Registered Manager of a large Childrens Home or multiple homes with successful Ofsted outcomes within a childrens/young peoples environment.
  • Successful experience of liaising with local authorities.
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour of children and young people.
  • Experience of independent visits and QA processes.
  • Experience of leading CPD in care and safeguarding.
  • Track record of effective work in developing the effectiveness of leadership teams.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage strategically.
