Job Description

Platform Resourcing are working with a successful engineering business based in Barry who are looking for a Internal Sales person to join their expanding team.The successful candidate will have experience of learning technical products or parts, producing quotes to be able to send to customers and scheduling.Internal Sales Benefits:

  • Basic salary of up to £27,000
  • Hours Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

Internal Sales Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Being first point of contact via email and telephone for new and existing client queries
  • Understanding the client needs and requirements, promoting the correct service and parts needed accordingly (this will be vehicle related, mainly heavy goods vehicles)
  • Negotiating on pricing, producing technical quotes based on client requests
  • Sending a quotation to the customer and following up on quotation to see if the customer would like to book in the work
  • Processing the work and adding it to the system
  • Ordering any parts needed to complete the work
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure stock is adequate to fulfil current orders
  • Scheduling in an engineer to visit customer, using the most cost-effective route for various engineers in their area (covering all of South Wales as far as Carmarthenshire down to Chepstow)
  • Update customers on the status of their orders or any engineer delays (i.e. traffic/ accidents)
  • Checking to see if work has been completed by engineers and that they are happy
  • Aiming to develop and build strong relationships with customers for repeat business
Internal Sales Essential Skills and experience
  • Experience within a similar office-based administration role, from an engineering/ construction/ logistics or manufacturing background
  • Able to learn technical product knowledge and be confident to promote products to customers
  • Scheduling ability - whether this be scheduling engineers/ booking deliveries after order processed
  • Experience of producing quotations for customers
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to build strong working relationships with customers
