Corrosion Management CoordinatorSalary £45,000 pro rataHours 09:00 - 17:00The prime responsibility of the Corrosion Management Coordinator:Coordinates and manages the corrosion management programme on the Barry site. Develops execution plan for site corrosion management budget, defines packages of work, priorities / timelines for exectution and oversees spend forecasting and completion trackingto budget targets. Ensures work being undertaken is to the latest Dow standards to ensure a safety first, quality driven and cost-effective methodology. Maintains a KPI driven quality management process for painting work undertaken at the Barry site. Workswith Dow construction manager to ensure new build painting work is completed and site project team are supported.Key role points;

• Coordinate and drive the Barry site corrosion management program, update plant condition assessments, submit requests for annual budget based on condition and develop scope / execution plans to spend allocated budget.
• Ensure a KPI driven quality program is in place for all painting work carried at on the Barry site.

Candidate profile;

• Project management experience, field coordination and execution planning. Experience in tender process for fixed price scope of works.
• Experience with confined space entry and permit to work systems.
• NACE level 1 certified highly desirable.

Additional Information;

• Develop site corrosion management budget spent execution plan, defining prioritisation and break down of work faces to be executed. Develop tender process and drive timeline to deliver spent as per allocated budget.
• Ensure work pack development in advance of execution to capture, scope, method and quality control plan for work to be undertaken.
• Coordinate and ensure effective permitting of corrosion management activities, agreeing and setting out permitting requirements with plant areas or where DOA permits complete permitting for activities to be undertaken.
• Track site corrosion status across site areas, submit annual requests for global corrosion management budget allocation.
• Track corrosion spend profile against budget allocation and provide monthly spend forecasts to cost centre owner.
• Maintain a KPI driven process for painting quality assurance against contract companies performing coating work at the Dow Barry site. Provide routine contractor peformance measurement data to contract operations and asset integrity teams.
• NACE level 1 certified to provide independent quality assurance for coating, complete routine field-based thickness and adhesion tests in addition to quality measures on application conditions, surface preparation and undercoat application. Long term goalto become NACE level 2 certified.
• Ensure sign off on work packs for any coating work undertaken at the Dow Barry site, clearly capture quality checks and Dow quality approval of work undertaken by term contractors prior to handover. Ensure documentation is achieved for future reference.
• Follow QSPP process to document performance gaps and drive improvement in the coating service provided by term contractors.
• Be a member of the global corrosion management SME network to leverage best practices and new technologies to enable corrosion management goals to be met.
• Carry out routine checks of contractors quotations and daywork sheets to ensure contract compliance, as and when requested by the relevant construction supervisor. Challenge discrepancies directly with the contract companies and agree revised costings.
• Carry out spot checks for services with no dedicated construction supervisor such as Scaffold, Insulation and painting works.
• Compile contract tender documentation for ad-hoc works involving transient contractors.
• Support painting of project work via the construction group, ensuring flow of communication and excution of painting in line with project deadlines and relevant POs raised to cover agreed scope of work.
• Ensure workflows and Dow standards are maintained and used.

Safety, Environmental and Health Performance Standards

• Ensure that necessary Dow site safety, health and environmental standards are followed. Liase with plant areas to develop a safe execution plan for managing tented environements created during corrosion management activities.
• Consider as a priority minimisation of environmental effects during corrosion management projects.
• Ensure attendance at the required number of safety meetings.
• Ensure that excellent housekeeping is a key indicator during corrosion management activities.
• Carry out or participate in incident investigations as required by supervisor.
• Encourage and enforce where necessary adherence with site standards, good working practices and requirements of risk assessment studies during corrosion management work.
• Conduct inspections and audits within area of responsibility as required by the inspection and audit programme.
• Ensure Training compliance.
