We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to their lives.The RoleThe Vale Contact Centre provides supervised contact for children and their families. The children are placed with the local authority while there are on-going court proceedings.Although the main base is at LDS House Barry, there may be times when you are out in the community at various venues throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.You will provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for both children and families.What youll be doing:

  • Supervising children and parents in a safe and friendly environment.
  • Recording accurate information and sharing appropriately with AFC and Social Services.
  • Possessing the ability to identify any safeguarding issues and seeking out appropriate advice.
  • Communicating effectively with families going through a traumatic period in their lives.
  • Communicating with other professionals.
  • Transporting children as and when required.
  • Being a part of the Contact team helping the service develop.
Youll need:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent /or commitment to complete with AFC
  • Experience working with children and or parents/families
  • The ability to communicate with others
  • A driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
