Head of CareLocation: Barnstaple - Little Bridge HouseContract Type: PermanentHours: Full timeSalary: £60,241 - £71,931Are you a clinical service leader, motivated and passionate about children’s palliative care and looking for a role where you can really make a differenceJoin us to have a key influence to making a difference to the lives of children with life limited conditions in this (CQC) Registered Manager post at our Little Bridge House hospice. The Role:The Head of Care is responsible for ensuring support and service standards are of the highest quality, keeping the child at the centre of everything we do, delivering individual care, supporting families throughout their journey from referral including endof life and bereavement support. The post will also ensure that the whole service is well led, accessible and reaches as many children and families as possible delivering the highest quality of services. This includes direct clinical care (both emergency and routine / ongoing support), familysupport including bereavement services, sibling support and music therapy. The running of the hospice including kitchen, housekeeping teams and the administration requirements for services co-ordination to business reporting and regulatory requirements. This requires:• Embedding positive leadership, communication, and teamwork across the team with clear escalation when senior support is required.• Establishing clear working relationships with the different team members including the medical director, clinical and administration and facilities teams.• Ensuring that the team are empowered to lead on the delivery of aspects of the service or business requirements with oversight and support from the Head of Care.• Ensuring that every role in the care team workforce has clear effective line management in place monitoring wellbeing, performance, and professional development.• Supporting seamless integration and positive teamwork between each group and layer of the team at Little Bridge House and with the other two hospice bases to ensure a collaborative Children’s Hospice South West approach.About You:To be successful you will be/have:• Registered Relevant Professional (ideally RGN/RSCN) with significant leadership experience of managing successful teams.• Strong demonstrable motivational leadership skills including effective change management experience. • The commitment and ability to champion the values and behaviours of Children’s Hospice South West delivering our services reflecting the ethos of the organisation.• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of children and families with palliative care needs.• Knowledge and understanding of the regulations, standards, policies and governance requirements to deliver a care service in the UK.About Us:An established and successful charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) provides hospice care for children with life limiting conditions and their families in the South West of England. Little Bridge House delivers services to children and their familieswho have a palliative care need and meet the agreed referral criteria. The CHSW ethos is support the whole family making the most of short and precious lives and our current delivery model includes care wherever the child is when they need it most includingcare at the hospice base, at home and virtual support. Little Bridge House is the North Devon based hospice one of three hospices supporting children across the South West for Children’s Hospice South West.
