We have more than 4,000 dedicated colleagues, at 14 locations across the country, all sharing the same obsession for our great food.Job description:Specifications TechnologistBased in Carlton, BarnsleyAn exciting opportunity has arisenfor a hardworking Specifications Technologist towrite and maintain branded and retailer specifications for products supplied and produced by Premier Foods Manufacturing sites. Collation, validation and accurate input of data are required into retailer and Premier specification database systems. Ensure provision of data is conducted in a timely manner and to the correct “Gold” standard. Ongoing maintenance of data is required to ensure information is correct, up to date, accurate and to the agreed standard.What you will be doing:

  • Ensure all necessary information is presented in a format to enable the generation of a finished product specifications and product labels which meets with all relevant legislation.
  • Create specifications for retailers, foodservice and branded products and ensure all data is correct and accurate.
  • Process, check and approve bought in factored good specifications.
  • Ensure all necessary and accurate legislative information is incorporated into the specifications, ensure compliance to retailer policies for retailer own label products and internal polices for branded products.
  • Be the point of contact between Premier Foods and Premier Foods customer/supply base where required.
  • Ensure all necessary information is presented in a pack copy format to enable the generation of a product label which meets with all relevant legislation.
  • Understand, maintain and develop knowledge of retailer systems and requirements to enable maintenance of customer specifications on their chosen systems.
  • Liaise with Factory Technical, Procurement, Legal, NPD, BAM’s, TAM’s, Marketing and Project Managers to ensure products are compliant and the correct data is used to complete customer and branded specifications and the generation of pack copies.
  • Checking of artwork to ensure that it is compliant, correct and reflective of the specification

  • Experience of inputting Technical data into data management systems
  • Food Technology Qualifications
  • Retailer Web Based Specifications Systems
  • Current experience within food industry and /or specification writing experience
