Job Description

Senior External Funding ManagerBarnsley College has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior External Funding Manager to join the Business Development team. The successful candidate will earn £38,956 per annum.This is a fantastic opportunity to join an outstanding college, taking on a new and exciting position.Role Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or above or have relevant work experience in bid writing.
  • Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
  • Experience of planning and leading major bidding rounds.
  • Familiarity with ESF /ESFA tendering opportunities.
  • Experience of procuring for subcontractors/partnerships for delivery programmes.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines.
Role Responsibilities
  • Identify external funding opportunities to ensure the College meets its annual income target for projects and other relevant budget lines.
  • Lead on the planning and the production of bids, both revenue and capital, for the College across a wide range of funding streams (i.e. SFA, EFA, ESF, ERDF, DWP or any other appropriate funding streams and/or business opportunities).
  • Produce risk analysis for new funding opportunities to assist the bidding decision making
  • Gain buy-in from key stakeholders from different business areas, internally and externally, to ensure timely input into bid submissions and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure tenders and business proposals meet all relevant specifications; are in line with the most recent research available and best practice; and are compliant with funder requirements.
  • Actively network and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners to secure partners as required for tenders and proposals.
  • Lead on the procurement of subcontracting / partnerships with external organisations for delivery provision .
  • Support the Head of Business Development in the development of Apprenticeship Levy proposals.
  • Ensure that all employer Apprenticeship contracts are performance managed and quality assured.
  • Regularly liaise with service colleagues to ensure that regular information, reports and data are provided.
  • Provide a professional service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that service colleagues, in particular the Compliance Team, understand their responsibilities relating to reporting and audit requirements of funding agencies.
