Job Description

Classroom Nurture Lead required (SEMH): Are you looking for an exciting new role in a high-performing, fully-inclusive school If so, look no further!Engage Education are working an inspiring, nurturing, and welcoming special school in South Yorkshire who are well-known in the local community for their warm welcome and fantastic results. Specialising for pupils with complex needs, such as SEMH, this schoolprovide a personalised and purposeful curriculum in a safe, bubbly and therapeutic learning environment.This is a full-time role to start in March 2024.If you are someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and resilient, then we would love to hear from you! About the role: The needs of the pupils they cater for range from:

  • Complex Learning Needs (such as SEMH, sensory and visual impairments)
  • Behavioural Difficulties
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders
This is a full time, term-time position on a long term contract with the high likelihood of becoming a permanent offer for the right candidate.We welcome applicants with a good understanding of working with students with severe ASC and profound, multiple learning difficulties and are enthusiastic about raising the attainment of their pupils and delivering the secure, welcoming and warm learningenvironment that they deserve.You will ideally have experience of supporting children with special educational needs but you will still be considered if you have a passion to work with students with special educational needs. Having already acquired Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) isa must for this role!The ideal candidate:
  • Patient, flexible and resilient manner.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children with special educational needs.
  • You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
  • Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils and staff alike, to support pupils in conjunction with a much wider support network.
  • Have a passion for teaching that you can share with pupils in an inspiring and engaging way.
