Job Description

Qualified Social WorkerTeam ManagerChildrens Fieldwork ServiceOur client, a local authority based in South Yorkshire is looking for a social work team manager to join its childrens Fieldwork teamFantastic pay rate of £40 per hour! (Umbrella)You will manage a team of 7 social workers with a mix from ASYE to Advanced Practitioner level. They operate a hybrid model between home and office on a duty rota.Responsibilities of the role:

  • Contributing to service improvements and developments within an agreed work plan linked to the Children and Families fieldwork service plan.
  • Act as a lead within the team in the area of good practice, emerging research, case law and relevant policy changes and disseminating relevant information to service areas via worksite and team meetings/briefings.
  • Induction of new Social Workers/ASWP to the service and ongoing coaching, mentoring and support of staff to meet expected standards and statutory responsibilities in respect of children subject to child protection plans and looked after children.
  • To maintain public confidence and act as a representative of the Local Authority around contentious issues aligned to area of responsibility and in the resolution of escalated service user complaints and escalate issues to Service Manager if necessary.
  • To work with peer group across the CYPF service to collectively address any operational issues and identify key themes to feed back to the Principal Child and Family Social worker.
Requirements of the role:
  • Social work Degree or equivalent qualification
  • SWE registered
