Job Description

Berneslai Homes has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Liaison Officer to join the team based at Gateway Plaza in Barnsley with the ability to work agilely. This is a full-time (37 hours), fixed term position until 31st March2023. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £22,571 - £24,920 per annum.About the company:Berneslai Homes are a successful, award winning social housing provider and employer, managing homes on behalf of Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. Working for us offers you a chance to play a real part in improving homes and communities throughoutBarnsley.The role:As our Project Liaison Officer you will be responsible for assisting with the co-ordination and production of investment and regeneration projectsincluding identification, development and implementation of projects to benefit the publicsector stock. You will carry out customer and stakeholder consultation and provide support for the delivery of projects.The successful candidate will join our Asset Management team to assist in the delivery of schemes of property modernisation/refurbishment. You will be part of a team and the role involves working with communities and stakeholders to develop local area plansto regenerate housing and support sustainable communities.Key duties and responsibilities of our Project Liaison Officer:

  • To assist Project Managers to appraise, analyse and contribute to the development of investment strategies and the area profiling process for public sector stock
  • To contribute to the identification and development of schemes suitable for funding bids
  • To assist Project Managers in the preparation of funding bids
  • To contribute to the collection and presentation of information as part of the Business and Delivery Plan process
  • To be responsible for financial returns in respect of specific projects
  • To work closely with officers from other Services and agencies in the development and delivery of investment and regeneration schemes and programmes
  • To liaise with other Housing staff, technical staff, and contractors to assist in the smooth running of investment and regeneration schemes
  • To be responsible for the supervision of the Project Manager, for the delivery of schemes, initiatives and programmes ensuring project timetables, budgets and briefs are adhered to
  • Ensure a customer focussed approach is adopted in all aspects of the service
  • Ensure that the needs of customers both internal and external are met by providing the best quality of service
  • Assist in the development of and implementation of good working practices in line with Berneslai Homes Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity policies
What were looking for in our Project Liaison Officer:
  • 4 GCSEs A-C Grade or equivalent qualifications
  • A positive, flexible approach to team working
  • Experience of working with software packages including Microsoft office and bespoke databases
  • Ability to accurately prepare and present information concisely and clearly
  • An understanding and commitment to working safely within the workplace
  • Demonstrate the ability to look for solutions and make decisions in a changing environment
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards your own development
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload whilst meeting deadlines and targets
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet the needs of the post
