Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group is excited to be working with a manufacturer based in Barnsley to recruit a Production Team Leader.Our client is looking for a driven Team Leader who has experience working in high volume manufacturing environments and has a strong understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality, with the confidence to challenge thestatus quo.Reporting to the Shift Manager, this Production Team Leader will lead and develop a team of approx. 10 operatives.Other duties of theProduction Team Leaderwill include:

  • Implementation and integration of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques including Kaizen and 5s, through a continuous improvement programme
  • Develop a quality culture, using root cause analysis to solve problems, eliminate issues and reduce NCRs
  • Drive minimisation of waste in the department
  • Investigate and analyse quality issues and implement solutions
  • Developing, controlling and reviewing Department SOPs
  • Develop a culture of communication and employee engagement
  • Communicate day to day targets and team responsibilities during shift briefing and handover
  • Responsible for all people management processes for direct reports
  • Responsible for ensuring department training is carried out and training plans are completed
  • Grow a Health and Safety Culture
  • Responsible for all safe working practices within the department
We would like to speak with Production Team Leaders with the following skills and experience:
  • Relevant supervisory experience with an understanding of manufacturing excellence.
  • Experience of fast-paced, high volume manufacturing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience within cnc machining would be advantageous
