Job Description

  • Managing and maintaining electronic diaries, including assessing priorities when dealing with conflicting demands; bringing urgent matters to the attention of the appropriate manager or deputy and by taking a pro-active approach supporting managers in organisingand maximising their workload and schedules.
  • Dealing with internal and external correspondence (including electronic mail), bringing urgent matters to the attention of the responsible manager or appropriate deputy in his/her absence and action requirements. Ensuring all post is dealt with in a timelyand professional manner. There is the potential for certain sensitive documents to be distressing in nature.
  • Producing accurate documents via the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Database Software, audio typing and where appropriate the use of shorthand/speedwriting. Supporting managers in investigating and responding to complaints, including the typingof complaint draft responses, and any other written correspondence where necessary.
Youll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
Youll have the following skills/experience:
  • Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
  • Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Previous PA/ administrative experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Excellent telephone manner
