Job Description

STAFF365 is proud to be working with our most established client in Barnsley. Due to their recent rapid expansion we are looking to recruit a highly motivated Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join their business.The successful applicant will be entitled to a competitive salary and a great range of benefits including:

About the role:
  • support the day to day management of a multi-discipline team of engineers,
  • ensuring the production equipment is maintained to minimize downtime and maximise production output.
  • create and deliver a planned maintenance programme and, react to breakdowns and technical issues, diagnosing faults and monitoring performance of equipment following repairs.
  • You will ensure all plant and equipment is operationally safe and complies with relevant legislation.
  • The Mechanical and Electrical Engineer will also plan equipment upgrades and machinery modifications replacing and commissioning machines when prescribed period of usage is complete.
  • You will also control the maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have the below:
  • Experience of Electrical and Mechanical maintenance engineering and Engineering qualifications (including 18th edition electrical) is essential
  • Experience of operating within a manufacturing environment and lean sigma is highly advantageous
  • Experience of fault finding on CNC machines, edge-banding machines and beam saws, programming experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication using information to influence others
  • A problem solver, highly analytical and proactive in approach
  • The successful candidate will also be flexible in approach, self-motivated, have strong decision making and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative without supervision and positively contribute within a team environment.
  • Previous experience of leadership and people management
  • Flexibility to attend to call outs when necessary
  • This is a day shift position but must be flexible to attend other shifts as and when necessary
