Job Description

The purpose of the role is to ensure the effective working of the maintenance team over the course of a shift and support the running of the factory by resolving breakdownsand delivering effective, efficient, high quality maintenance.Our Engineering Shift Supervisor perks and benefits are:

Engineering Shift Supervisor RoleIn this role you will:
  • Own and lead the delivery of safe and effective whole of site engineering shift cover
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of a team of engineers to provide engineering technical support and coaching to manufacturing operations
  • Ensure continuity of engineering support through effective communications, team management and handover to other teams.
  • Champion an area of production in planned and preventative maintenance
  • Reactive and breakdown management and response for the whole of the site
  • Manage Control of Work procedures including issuing and managing permits to work (PTW)
  • Subject matter expert in lock out tag out (LOTO)
  • Follow up on breakdowns and planned maintenance by planning corrective work
  • Manage the completion of all tasks on the weekend work list as applicable
  • Achieve planned and predictive maintenance metrics:
    • Criticals across whole of site - 100%
    • All PMs in champion area - 90%
  • Responsible for ensuring Agility (CMMS) is used for:
    • Recording all work completed
    • Planning all corrective work that results from work completed
    • Booking out all parts from stock
  • Key customers to work with, communicate & influence are:
    • Production Area Managers - agreeing priorities and managing incidents
    • Production Supervisors - understanding problems and agreeing approach
    • Operators - coaching on working principles and safe working
  • Manage direct reports:
    • Training & e-learning
    • Holiday & absence management
    • Performance management
About you!
  • Recognised NVQ / EITB Apprenticeship, HNC Engineering or ONC plus significant experience
  • COMPEX Electrical or Mechanical
  • Competent in the use of Windows packages including Word and Excel
  • Experience of using a CMMS system (Agility)
  • Woodworking or machining experience in a blue-chip company in a safety conscious environment is preferred. FMCG / Petro / Chemical / Construction Products industry by way of an alternate.
  • Awareness of the practical implications of all relevant Statutory legislation (PUWER, EAWR, LOLER, Risk Assessment, PSSR, CDM etc)
