Job Description

Our client, a forward thinking and market leading retailer based in Barnsley, is currently recruiting for a People Advisor to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.This is a great position which will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to travel UK wide, taking ownership of all HR related matters and providing professional, pragmatic and commercially focused HR advice and guidance to line managers, in a friendly and modern working environment.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for providing managers and colleagues with consistent and up to date advice and support on employee relation matters
  • Work closely with relevant departments to coach managers around employee relations and performance issues and be instrumental in helping guide managers through change
  • Highlighting training needs with in the business and planning a proactive approach to address these areas
  • Assist the business with Employment Law Compliance and policy review to cover all employment aspects including working practices, pay, conditions of employment and diversity
  • Working closely with departments, assisting line mangers to understand and implement policies and procedures
  • Work alongside People Advisors (L&D) and the Senior People Partners regarding reviews, ensuring all line managers have received appropriate training aligned to the HR policies and procedures to maximize, improve and develop management capability
  • Manage relevant ER case load trackers in an accurate and timely manner, including fixed term and temporary arrangements in place and provide information for HR reports in line with deadlines
  • Analyse HR reports as required and work with relevant line managers to address any concerns/identify improvements
  • Lead on short term and long term absence management and actively work with relevant line managers and
  • stakeholders to reduce this across the group
  • Support the business through areas of growth e.g. recruitment, new store openings
  • Ensure relevant work trackers and systems are kept up to date
  • Undertake compliance activities to protect the value and reputation of the business as and when required
  • Actively support the business and the Senior People Partner (HR) with a variety of projects
  • Support and coach the People Administrators in their day to day activities and their own individual development pathway
  • Your background:
  • Comprehensive Employee Relations experience, working in Retail/Operations or a similar fast paced environment
  • Ability to work with high volumes of case work
  • Currently holds or is working towards a level-5 CIPD qualification
  • Willingness to travel to various regional sites
