Barnsley Council are seeking a talented and successful Head of SEND & Inclusion to lead the SEND and Inclusion Service within the Childrens Services Directorate. You will be working on a Full Time, Permanent (37 hours per week) and the role attracts a competitive salary of £75,463 - £82,990 per annum.The Head of SEND & Inclusion role:The role offers the opportunity to work with a highly regarded team, in a dynamic and exciting Council.You will provide the Councils strategic leadership on SEND and Inclusion, continuing our transformational approach to Barnsleys system-wide SEND improvement programme through the development of people, teams, and systems. You will ensure the deliveryof operational transformation across the service, securing sufficient, effective, efficient, and inclusive provision for children and young people with SEND.We are looking to recruit a highly experienced professional who will have a clear vision and passion for ensuring the best provision for children and young people with SEND and is a champion of and advocate for inclusion. To support this, the service includesour Education Welfare Service and SEND Commissioning.The Head of SEND & Inclusion will be a challenging but very rewarding role, youll be the designated Lead Officer for all SEND matters and play a crucial role in driving forward the improvement and development of our SEND service, includingour SEND improvement programme.Skills and experience were looking for in our Head of SEND & Inclusion:A track record of recent success in leading and managing in the context of services for children and young people with SEND is essential, as is a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of SEN and inclusion legislation and issues. We are looking for an individualwho has successful experience of working closely with stakeholders including children, young people and families, schools, health services, and the community/voluntary sector.Youll be an expert in SEND and have extensive knowledge and experience of applying the processes, policies, best practice, and statutory regulations relating to childrens special educational needs and disabilities. Experience of working with internal andexternal partners (to improve the outcomes for children and young people with SEND), the ability to manage large budget streams and proven leadership skills are essential.A little bit about us:Now more than ever, our work is making a difference.
