Berneslai Homes have 5 exciting Electrician opportunities available based at the Carlton Depot in Barnsley. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working on a shift pattern on a rota basis, including Saturday mornings and participationin an Out of Hours Standby rota. Working for us offers you a chance to play a real part in improving homes and communities throughoutBarnsley.As our Electrician you will:- Receive support and development through our mentorship scheme- Receive feedback and organisational information through regular Tool Box Talks- Youll take a real team oriented approach to your activities- Youll work to current health and safety legislation- Youll be involved in your own personal development- Deliver excellence in every respectfrom the quality of our work to our customer service skills.What will you be doing as one of our Electricians- Carry out all aspects of electrical work on repairs and maintenance and refurbishment projects- Carry out electrical repairs and installations to the current Institute of Electrical Engineers (IET) wiring requirements- Interpret detailed electrical design drawings and diagrams- Test and inspect electrical installations against current IET requirements- Complete works on a wide range of electrical installations and specialist equipment such as renewable technologies- Ensure that all electrical test certificates and reports are completed to specification- Carry out diagnostic fault finding on a wide range of installations, equipment and apparatus- Liaise with other employees of various trades, tenants, managers, etc.Qualifications and experience were looking for in our Electrician:- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (City and Guilds) including AM2 Qualification- BS7671:2018 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations or 17th edition and willing to achieve 18th edition within six months- City and Guilds 2391 or Equivalent Inspecting and Testing certificate or working towards or willing to attain within six months of any start date- Previous experience and knowledge of electrical installation, fault finding and proactive repairs including installing electrical equipment to a high standard- Knowledge of a range of electrical systems including heating systems- Experience of working with renewable technologies including solar PV and Air Source HeatingSkills were looking for in our Electrician:- Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to both team and lone working- Competent in testing and inspecting- Ability to interpret electrical design drawings and circuit diagrams- Adaptable with the ability to contribute ideas and solutions to improve- Ability to organise personal workload and effectively prioritise tasks- Ability to understand the needs of the customer to ensure excellent customer service- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers- Basic IT SkillsFor more details about this role, please visit our website where you can find the full job description.What you might be asking is, why work for usWe are proud to be an IIP Gold Accredited Organisation and we put our people first!
