Job Description

Job Title: DietitianGrade:Band 6Trust: Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation TrustLocation: Barnsley Hospital, S75 2EPHours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours p/wPay rate: From £21.80Are you an experienced Dietitan Do you have evidence-based experience and are looking for flexible working opportunities Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust are currently providing these opportunities through an exciting placement opportunity at Barnsley Hospital.The Trust is delighted to offer the opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual to join their Team. The post holder will work in the dietetic team and deliver complex and sensitive dietetic/nutritional information to individualsand groups.To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

    • HCPC Registration
    • Degree in Dietetics or equivalent
    • Previous NHS experience
    • Previous experience working in nutritional support
Role Details:
  • To provide specialist dietetic advice for patients who may require complex dietetic intervention and to monitor and adapt their treatment accordingly in an inpatient/out patient setting.
  • To be part of the B6 rotation, gaining experience in specialist areas of Dietetics within the wider team, providing cover for these areas as appropriate.
  • To produce nutrition education resources, diet sheets and patient literature, ensuring that these convey complex nutritional information in an understandable form for clients who may have barriers to understanding.
  • To respond to nutrition queries from other health professionals, the general public and media.
  • To organise, plan, deliver and evaluate nutrition education sessions to groups including health care professionals (NHS and non-NHS), patients, carers and the general public.
  • To continue own professional development in line with HCPC regulations.
  • To regularly undertake audits and surveys of own practice/dietetic service and may be required to participate in research.
  • To provide a key role in service development and service changes, including policy development and proposal of new specialist services.
  • To keep accurate and comprehensive records in accordance with Trust and Dietetic Department standards.
  • To adhere to Trust and Dietetic Department policies and procedures.
