Job Description

Do you have excellent administration skills Are you approachable and a team player Do you have experience of Microsoft Office packagesBarnsley Hospital NHS Trust would love to hear from you!NHS Professionals run the temporary bank at Kendray Hospital, and we are looking for Administrators to start immediately.Location: The Lodge, Kendray Hospital, Doncaster Road, Barnsley S70 3RDDepartment: Right CareDuration: 28th September 2020 – 30th December 2020Hours: 37.5 hours per week, this may include working some weekends on rota basis. The department run a 7-day service.Shift Pattern: 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pmContract Type: TemporaryBand 2 (£9.21 per hour)Responsibilities will cover several areas such as:

  • To carry out and prioritise a variety of administrative and clerical duties and undertake other general office duties (prioritising and generate own workload)
  • Using a range of software programmes and audio-typing to produce, maintain and distribute documents, including reports, spreadsheets, databases and presentations that may include regularly dealing with matters of a complex and/or distressing nature.
  • Understanding of a range of work procedures and practices, some of which are non-routine, which require a base level of theoretical knowledge. This is normally acquired through formal training or equivalent experience.
  • Photocopying, scanning, emailing, faxing, distributing, filing and organising letters, reports, and other documents.
  • Setting up and maintaining comprehensive, confidential records and filing systems, ensuring that all records are kept up-to-date and filing is carried out in a timely manner.
  • Opening, date-stamping, sorting and distributing incoming mail, relating it to previous correspondence as appropriate and ensuring that outgoing post is sent in a timely manner.
  • Researching appropriate websites, downloading, and circulating documents.
  • To undertake receptionist/telephonist duties, receiving and processing telephone calls, including referrals, which may be urgent, liaising with health professionals to correctly 3process referrals.
  • Inputting onto various databases and systems, e.g. System One, PAS, Lorenzo and designated spreadsheets, within the required timescales and deadlines.
