Job Description

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for the following roles, Street Sweepers, Refuse Loaders, Waster Collectors to work for our clients based in North London.The successful candidates will carry out active duties and be responsible for the appropriate use of service vehicle or any ancillary equipment associated with the provision of the Streets service as part of street-based operations.The sucessful candidates will also provide, either individually or as a member of a team, a professional, positive and high-quality service to residents and customers in accordance with agreed working practices, targets, relevant legislation and service standards.Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Be jointly responsible for fully completing daily work schedules.
  • Verbally advise the driver of any information relevant for the completion of daily operational reports.
  • Verbally advise the driver of any incidents or accidents.
  • Work under the instruction of the driver to complete all scheduled and remedial works within the council’s service specification guidelines.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle cab.
  • Ensure that unauthorised works are not carried out.
  • Ensure as far as possible that unacceptable material is not loaded into vehicles.
  • Ensure all spillage is cleared.
    • Requirements:
  • 3 year’s work reference
  • Previous experience but not essential
  • A sound understanding of Health & Safety at work act 1974
  • You must be physically fit, be able to walk 10 -15 miles a day and be able to lift bulky rubbish
  • The ability to co-ordinate and work effectively as part of a team
  • The ability to communicate with appropriate levels of the organisation and the public and have a proven commitment to customer care.
    • Working Hours: Street sweepers would be expected to work from 0600-13.30 Monday-Friday.This is a Temporary role but could possibly become permanentPlease note only candidates eligible to work in the UK will be considered Required skills
