Platform / DevOps Engineer - Digital Disruptor implementing a greenfield digital transformation: This is an opportunity for a DevOps Engineer, with a strong background in Cloud Platforms (ideally Google Cloud Platform GCP, but open to cross-training from Amazon Web Services AWS or Azure) to influence our clients DevOps culture working in an agile environment with / evaluating bleeding edge technologies.Responsibilities:*Working in a team building and managing our GCP environments and projects to enable application deployments*Engineer solutions on GCP foundation platform using Infrastructure as Code method namely Terraform and Terragrunt*Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers, Cloud Functions, Big Query Tables)*Manage SDN in GCP*Ensure compliance with Security and Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)*Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities*Engineering activities to implement patches and updates*Support non-functional testing.*Update support and operational documentation as required*Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP databases, NoSQL storage, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting and Dashboard development*Designing and developing scalable, fault-tolerant self-service infrastructures that empower product teams to act quickly and independently without blocking each other*Working closely with developers to help build pipelines for automated packaging, testing, and deployment of apps and services*Implementing proactive monitoring and alerting to quickly identify failures and improve the Mean Time to Recovery*Building & Supporting hosting platform*Planning, design and documentation*Supporting solutions in production*Personal development (new technologies, performance management)Skills:*Experience of designing scalable, fault tolerant infrastructure platforms*Experience of working with GCP or experience of working with AWS / Azure and be prepared to transition to GCP*An understanding of software development fundamentals (code structure, source control, continuous integration and delivery) Required skills
