Job Description

Your World Healthcare is a leading specialist healthcare recruitment agency, placing a range of healthcare professionals into Non-Clinical and Clinical positions Nationwide. Our healthcare client based in Barnet, Hertfordshire is currently hiring foran experienced Medical Receptionist (preferably with existing EMIS Web knowledge) to join their team.Job title: Medical ReceptionistKnowledge Required: EMIS Web (Desirable)Please Note: If you do not have existing Emis Web knowledge, but do have experience of using other healthcare patient management systems as well as proven ability to learn new systems quickly, this may also be considered.Sector: HealthcareLocation: Barnet, HertfordshireHome Working Options: No, position is based on-site Job type: TemporaryDuration: Expected to be on a temporary basis for 3 months initially, however, this potentially may be longer depending on our clients service needs.Hourly Pay Rates: £10.00 PAYE or £10.75 PAYE Inclusive of holiday payStart: ASAPWorking Days and Hours:

  • Mondays 8am - 6:30pm
  • Tuesdays 8am - 2pm
  • Wednesdays 1pm - 6:45pm
Remote working options: No - This role is based on-siteHourly Pay Rate: £10 PAYE inclusive of holiday payStart Date: ASAPJob Responsibilities
  • Acting as first point of contact, assisting with general enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner in person, via telephone and via email
  • Book and re-schedule patient appointments
  • Provide administrative support
  • Update patient information onto EMIS-Web daily, demonstrating great level of accuracy
  • Use MS Office Applications daily, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ensure all telephone calls are handled in a timely manner with sensitivity and professionalism
  • Obtain relevant test results and ensure patient clinical notes are up to date and contain all information required for consultation
  • Deal with incoming communication and correspondence, handling, delegating, and generating responses quickly and appropriately
  • Liaise with non-clinical and staff and hospitals when required
  • File patients files and correspondence
  • Sorting of mail
  • Communicating with non-clinical and clinical staff regularly, to ensure a smooth operational service
Skills Required
  • Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist/Administrator within a GP Surgery, Medical Practice, Hospital or NHS environment
  • Existing knowledge of EMIS Web (desirable), however, if you do not have existing Emis Web knowledge, but do have experience of using other healthcare patient management systems as well as a proven ability to learn new systems quickly, this will also beconsidered.
  • Smart Card Held (preferable)
  • Good administrative skills
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Experienced booking appointments in a busy diary
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (with ability to manage phone lines and deal with professionals and patients)
  • Knowledge of MS office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Appropriate handling of sensitive/confidential information
  • Clean enhanced DBS (issued within the last 12 months) or a current in-date DBS registered with the update service (Essential) - However, if this is not yet held, this can be applied for as part of the registration/compliance process via Your World Healthcare
  • Must be able to start employment on ASAP or within 1 week - pending job offer and full registration (compliance)
Requirements:To commence employment as a Medical Receptionist via Your World Healthcare, if successful; you must be fully registered and compliant via Your World Healthcare in the first instance. To become compliant, you will need to:
  • Complete full work registration via Your World Healthcare (prior to commencing employment)
  • Apply for a valid in date DBS if you not yet hold a current enhanced DBS certificate (issued within the last 12 months) or a on the update service OR an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months (this can be applied for as part of your application viaYour World Healthcare)
  • Provide a minimum of 2x professional employment/educational references covering the last 18 months.
