Job Description

T&K Associates are currently recruiting for a Machinist to join a friendly and family orientated business based in Bardon Hill, Coalville on a permanent basis.You will be working in a clean engineering workshop environment and should have the ability to operate and maintain lathe and milling machines to produce high-end bespoke products.Machinist Job Benefits;

  • Up to £33k per annum DOE

  • 37.5 hours per week: - Monday to Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm & Friday 8.30am-3.30pm

Machinist Job Responsibilities;
  • Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines
  • Review drawings, instructions and samples to ensure accurate production
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
  • Select appropriate machines and position or load material for a job
  • Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc
  • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
  • Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
  • Update and keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
  • Ensure health and safety / housekeeping is maintained at all times
  • All other associated tasks as required
Machinist Person Specification;
  • Previous experience of working within an Engineering environment is essential
  • Experience of working with lathe and milling machines is required
  • Previous CNC experience is advantageous
  • Experience working on XYZ CNC Lathe or DMG Mori NLX2500 is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work under own initiative but also an excellent team player
