At Quarry Manufacturing & Supplies we have an exciting opportunity for a Skilled Mechanical Operative to join our Assembly team based in Bardon Hill. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £10 - £13 per hour depending upon experience.Quarry Manufacturing is an established, successful family owned business based at Bardon Hill in Leicestershire. We are European leaders in OEM manufacturing of crushers and crushing plant, suppliers of spare and wear parts for the worldwide quarrying industry, and maintenance experts for crushing plant throughout the UK.TheSkilled Mechanical Operative (Assembly Operative) RoleWorking independently from engineering drawings and verbal instructions, the Assembly Operative is a standalone role within our service department where you will be required to build each crushing plant to bespoke customer requirements. You will need to use your own initiative whilst following instructions and be competent at fitting and assembly of stone crushers and crushing plant. The role involves manual handling, using a forklift and overhead crane.Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm with opportunity for overtime when required.Key Responsibilities of ourSkilled Mechanical Operative (Assembly Operative)- Assemble crushing plant (crushers, screens, conveyors, oil tanks, MVU) as per technical specification- Strip & build of crushers and/or crushing plant- Interpret and understand engineering drawings- Test run and verify products to given instructions, meeting quality standards- Ensure production assembly timescales are adhered to- Identify any faults, diagnose and resolve- Ensure components received meet company quality standards- Prepare parts for shipment- Complete paperwork as required.- Keep work area safe, organised, clean and tidy.- You may also be required to carry out various other tasks at your supervisors discretion.Our ideal Skilled Mechanical Operative (Assembly Operative):- Will have previous experience of technical / mechanical assembly- Be able to interpret engineering drawings- Be able to follow instructions and concentrate- Have good knowledge and experience of using hand tools- Is physically fit to handle products correctly and safely- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team- Confident of working at height- Experience in fabrication, machine building / fitting, mechanical engineering- Competent in the use of overhead crane and forklift truck.If you feel you can offer the skills and experience to become a valued member of our growing team please click ‘apply’ today to become our new Skilled Mechanical Operative (Assembly Operative).
