Job Description

Systems Programmer required for my client based in Bacup who work within components and materials manufacturing, via the medical industry.The successful system programmer will join a proactive team and help with the production control systems, programs and support infrastructure.Systems Programmer Position Overview

  • Installing systems and programs to link production machinery to the IT network allowing for downloading of data for optimising performance of machinery and processes.
  • Query writing from ERP System (SYSPRO) and other data systems to meet needs of all users.
  • Dealing with user system queries on a routine and daily basis.
  • Evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs.
  • Planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Researching and installing new systems.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision.
  • Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems
  • Mentoring and training new ICT support staff.
  • Keeping up to date with latest technologies.
Systems Programmer Position Requirements
  • Information Technology Management qualified.
  • Experience of all Microsoft Office products, various programming languages, Power BI, SQL Server.
  • Programming experience in Omicron, C#, XLS, VB Script would be advantageous.
Previous experience in/of:
  • A Systems Programmer role is essential.
  • Computer hardware and software systems and programmes.
  • Computer networks, network administration and installation.
  • Computer viruses and security.
  • E-mail and internet programs.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Decision making skills.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Bacup.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Systems Programmer Position Remuneration
  • Salary - £42,000 and £50,000 - dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.
  • Monday to Thursday - 08:30am to 17:00pm with 1-hour lunch Friday - 08:30am to 13:30pm (35hours in total)
