Job Description

PDR are currently working with a progressive, independently owned Transport business in the search of a HGV Workshop Manager.You will be responsible for managing a workshop team of up to 10 fitters with varying levels of experience, helping them develop and perform their day to day activities to the high standard required. The team will undertake HGV fleet repair, maintenance, roadside repairs/recovery, service and safety inspections, including but limited to:

  • HGV MOT Preparations
  • HGV Servicing & Repair. Mainly Daf and Mercedes
  • Servicing and repair of trailers
  • As manager you will additionally have responsibility for:
  • Control of the day to day operation and all responsible duties relating to the workshop loading and planning.
  • Effective communication with staff, customers and colleagues
  • Correct completion of all relevant paperwork and documentation in a timely manner through to final input.
  • Ideal Candidates will:
  • Be qualified in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair (City & Guilds / NVQ) Level 3 or equivalent or have a time served track record.
  • Be able to work to high standard
  • Enjoy problem solving and inspiring others to produce a high quality of workmanship.
  • Have experience of service and workshop processes and procedures
  • Be adept in working in a busy ever-changing environment
