Job Description

We are currently looking for a Packer to join our ProductionDepartment in Atherstone, Warwickshire.Key Job ResponsibilitiesSTART OF SHIFT

  • Attend and contribute to Tier 1 (cell brief)
  • Make packing area ready to run
  • Check correct packaging matches product and order
  • Quality - check product alignment
EVERY HOUR
  • Complete hourly production tracker
THROUGHOUT SHIFT
  • Quality - complete first & last pallet/order checks, sign of sheet & sticker
  • Quality - ensure the product meets the quality standards
  • Quality - complete visual checks
  • Undertake housekeeping roles
  • Pack all finished goods in accordance with standards
  • Clean machines, report any damage found
GENERAL
  • Work fully in accordance with all local area and plant safety rules, risk assessments and HazCards including correct PPE / RPE etc. as required when performing duties
  • Communicate proactively with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Participate in improvement or problem-solving teams
  • Communicate the results of assigned tasks through lead hands.
Knowledge and SkillsThe applicant will have the following Essential Skills
  • Good basic understanding of PC software and able to interpret, record and report information accurately
  • Good knowledge of working and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, changing environment, follow standard work in a continuous improvement environment
  • Ability to follow process and product standards and technical instructions to allow for product and process experimentation including noting results where required
  • Must be able to liaise with support teams to help problem solve product, process and machine issues.
  • Be able to work as part of a team; we are looking for a confident individual with good communication skills and good attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain concentration levels during routine activities
  • Good levels of hygiene as working with abrasives
  • Able to multitask as required
  • Good time keeping and ability to be flexible and work shifts including weekends where required
The following skills are Desirable
  • A working knowledge of SAP
  • Shift pattern (1 week x 3 days, 1 week x 3 nights and one week split 2 days and 2 nights) Hours per week - averages 40hrs per week (36hr x 2 weeks and 1 x 48hr week)
