Our values are embedded in our culture which are Champion Change, Render Recognition, Embrace Partnership, Exude Pace and Deliver WOW (CREED) and enable individuals to thrive in our fast-paced environment.As the Buying Team Leader, You will be responsible for leading a Team of buyers at the manufacturing site, effectively and proactively source stock and non-stock items from new and existing Suppliers in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal procedure(s) based at Atherstone.* To effectively lead, manage, motivate, and develop a Team of Buying Envoys to deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with business strategy* To effectively manage the Buying process(es) for their Clients driving compliance with Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and internal procedure(s)* To establish and maintain rapport with all levels of Supplier personnel to ensure Client satisfaction* To initiate, plan and control the workflow to ensure outputs are delivered to time, budget and specification* To facilitate and lead on process improvement opportunities for the Buying function and implement agreed initiatives throughout the Team* To take responsibility for the recruitment, training, and development of the Team, driving efficiency and productivity through monthly 121 meetings and annual appraisals* To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the job role* Manage the MRP process for all 3M sites in the clients system.* To source ad hoc stock and/or non-stock items on request of the Client in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal procedure(s)* To assist the Client in the selection of goods and to advise of alternative products where appropriate to negotiate cost reductions* To liaise directly with the Procurement department with respect to additional product information where necessary* To process orders as required with the correct procedure* Liaise with customers to resolve any invoice queries* To support with the expediting of all outstanding purchase orders when required* To liaise directly with customers in receipt of direct orders to confirm the delivery of goods and to update records on SAP accordingly* To efficiently respond to plant stopper situations, queries and urgent item(s) requests received from the ClientSkills Required:* A highly motivated, positive and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to exceed Client expectations on a day to day basis* Good change management skills including coaching, conflict resolution, people values, delegation, inclusiveness, commitment* Resilience together with a strong and driven leadership style* Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to effectively prioritise workload* Excellent verbal communication skills and advanced presentation skills together with the confidence to communicate with key stakeholders on a regular basis* Intellectually strong with demonstrable problem-solving skills* Analytical skills with proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power PointExperience Required:* Proven experience of managing a high-volume transaction process preferably within a Shared Service environment* Previous experience of Purchasing/Stock Control and/or Buying* Experience of ensuring quality standards are maintained alongside strong performance management culture* Previous buying experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment desirableKnowledge Required:* Good working knowledge of SAP applications Required skills
