Job Description

Reed are delighted to be working with a Reputable Service who are looking to recruit a Personal Wellbeing Advisor to join their dedicated team based in Ashington.The Personal Wellbeing Advisor (Family & Relationships) is responsible for delivering a personal wellbeing service focussed around supporting service users to improve their personal wellbeing and to develop, maintain and enhance positive relationships withtheir family and loved ones. The Personal Wellbeing Advisor may also offer support across other aspects of personal wellbeing.Responsibilities:

  • Provide welcoming, safe and human support to service users who access the Personal Wellbeing services ensuring service users are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy.
  • Act as the family relationships expert in the Personal Wellbeing service ensuring partners refer service users requiring family relationship support.
  • Maintain operational relationships with local Probation staff to manage casework requirements.
  • Proactively manage a caseload of service users in line with the information contained within the referral provided by the Responsible Officer.
  • Support service users in addressing their assessed needs in line with the service delivery model by motivating and promoting a service users belief in their ability to change.
  • Be alert and responsive to behavior, information or changes which could indicate a change in Risk of Serious Harm and report according to local procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to challenging behavior (including unacceptable behavior) in order to de-escalate tension, enable service user to manage strong feelings and to ensure their own safety and that of others.
  • Understand risk assessment as compatible with role and to ensure appropriate consideration of risk when referring service users to complimentary agencies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams in order to promote the benefits of Personal Wellbeing and support appropriate referrals to external provision and the Personal Wellbeing service.
  • Develop relationships with relevant partner agencies.
  • Meet required performance targets as defined by the line manager (in accordance with Pact Futures contract for service delivery) and keep accurate case records to enable performance against individual targets to be evidenced.
Essential:
  • Experience of working with people who have multiple or complex needs with a proven track record of achieving outcomes for Service Users.
  • Ability to deliver family work.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults best practice
  • The ability to use different techniques of engagement, use empathy and build rapport with others, relate well to different types of people, and develop effective and supportive professional relationships with people with multiple and complex needs, whileobserving professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the impacts of criminality on family & relationships
  • Experience of motivating others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and advocacy skills including the ability to listen well and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
