Job Description

A globally renowned personal care/FMCG business is currently recruiting for a Shift Manufacturing Manager to join its fast-paced production site, based in Andover on a permanent basis. As Shift Manufacturing Manager, you will play a vital role in mentoring/supporting the team whilst having the ability to implement continuous improvement suggestions (5s/six sigma) to the workplace.Shift Manufacturing Manager Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all employees out of hours and production employees during normal working hours.
  • Ability to work shifts - 40 Hours Monday-Sunday Inclusive 4 on 4 off 12-hour shifts alternating days and nights covering 365 days a year.
  • Ensure the quality of products is right first time and to standard using the tools and processes available.
  • Maintaining required standards of Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP)
  • To deputise for the Site Operations Manager when required.
  • To ensure full support is provided in conjunction with the Quality and safety audit process and ensure corrective actions are undertaken as required.
  • To understand and use Lean as a methodology to continuously improve the plant and for championing and ensuring delivery of Change Management, such as 5Ss, OEE, Visual Factory, recycling, energy saving, and to communicate and get buy in of these programmes from the team.
  • To implement and ensure agreed Health & Safety initiatives are embedded and maintained as required.

  • Extensive experience of leading a team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of robotics and automated manufacturing technology, including fault finding and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to relay information to colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of leading and/or participating in continuous improvement projects (Six Sigma or Lean would be an advantage).
