Port Health Support Assistant Are you a qualifiedEnvironmental Health, Foodor Port Health professional looking for arole where you canprogress your career andbe the first line of defencein the management and safety of our foodimports If so, this Local Authorityvacancy couldgive you just that.Who will you be joining A South East based Local Authority thatcontrolsthe safety and security ofUKimports and exports are seeking additional support as part of a large team of professionals tasked withsafeguardingthe public healthof our nation. What will you do Within this role you will have a versatile list of responsibilities which includes, but is not limited to,the following: ·Carry out checks on imports of products of animal origin andhigh-riskfood not of animal origin ·Assist those checking organic food, illegal unreported and unregulated fishing, animal composites and other relevant controlled goods ·Work under the direct supervision of Official Veterinarians / Port Health Officers as required. To carry out documentary ·Carry out relevant administrative functions including use of Information Management Systems such as PHILIS, IPAFFS and FSA risk-likelihood dashboard ·Assist in the storage and dispatch of statutory samples ·Maintain sample dispatch records and disposal of samples no longer required.What do you need To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and throughoutthe interview process: ·Level 3 qualificatione.g.BTEC Environmental Health, or 2 A levels, NVQ3 or equivalent in relevant subject(s) ·Previous experience working in industries associated with food, food safety, import/export sector or closely related fields ·Previous experience within an enforcement or regulatory fieldHow will you benefit Should you be successful in securing this exciting opportunityyou will benefit from aSalary of up to£25,803 per annumworking 37 hours per week and 25 days leave annually.
