Job Description

Lead QA EngineerAshfordHybrid working available Salary: Up to £55kReporting to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that they continue to deliver the highest quality products to their high-profile global client base.You will be directly involved in implementing and maintaining processes designed toproduce high-standard deliveries by leading a team of QA engineers.As part of your role, you will play a key factor in the product version releases, providingexpert feedback with regard to what tests have been performed, and reporting back onthe outcome of testing, including known issues and the severity of issues found. Ultimatelyconcluding if a product is suitable to be released.With a wealth of experience in software testing, you will need to set a high standard withregard to how testing should be performed, ensuring the standard set is always adheredto. leading by example, test plans should be well thought out and prepared in advance ofproduct releases.Software such as TestRail should be utilised in order to continue to build a more robust testplan, prepare for future product releases and report back to the business progress andresults of test plans. As part of this, you will be required to delegate upcoming work to theQA engineers, keeping track of the teams current and future work, whilst being able toreport on the time spent on testing.Using experience with automated testing software such as Selenium and being proficientin at least one scripting language, you will also be responsible for integrating automatedtesting into the standard product tests. You should be able to drive this forward,providing guidance and leadership to the QA engineers, and outlining to the team bestpractices, as well as enabling the team members to learn and be successful.Main Duties & Requirements Lead the QA team and provide technical mentoring and support to enable ahigh-performing teamImplement automated testing, providing time for training and upskilling, as well asfacilitating the technical growth of the teamEnsure that the QA team are all following the JIRA/TestRail workflow and process, andthat tickets are completed, tested and checked before being released.Work with the development teams to facilitate agile ceremonies, support the agileprocess and enforce best practicesProvide reporting for QA team capacity and metrics for the time & effort spent withineach key business area.Collaborating with business stakeholders and development teams to distil ideas intoconcrete deliverables and provide valuable input from your expert point of viewWorking with the development team to define desired functionality and in turnproduce a robust test plan for upcoming product releasesStaff appraisals and recruitment. Liaise with the customer support team to help identify customer issues and improve theoverall client experience.Skills & Requirements Extensive experience as a Senior or Lead QA Engineer working with mobile applicationsand Web applicationsExperience with managing and maintaining test cases using software such as TestRailTaking complex requirements and breaking them down into robust test casesWorking experience with scripting languages (such as Python, Shell, Java) producingautomated tested with software such as SeleniumWorking experience with Network monitoring utilities such as Charles and built-in webbrowser extensionsExperience with API testing, utilising software such as PostmanGood appreciation of UI/UX and the ability to make decisions based on currentdesigns and what is best for the userAn eye for detail.
