This is why we have this exceptional opportunity for a Property Operations Manager to lead on the day-to-day operation of the property, including house and collections, visitor experience& welcome and gardening teams. We need you to bring your experience from the varied life of a visitor focused operation to help drive Arlington forward, creating an exceptional engaging and dynamic visitor experience. What its like to work here On the edgeof Exmoor and a short distance from the North Devon coast Arlington Court is one of Britains best kept secrets. At the heart of the 2700 acre estate is a house with an eclectic collection including masses of model ships, piles of pewter and a museum roomof the last owners collectables. The stables now house the National Trusts Carriage Collection. The formal and kitchen gardens are set a little way from the house while the pleasure grounds merge into the park and wider countryside. Arlington Court and thewider North Devon Coast and Countryside are now one large portfolio having merged in 2021 making it an exciting place to work with lots of variety and diversity on offer. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity for someone who has real drive, vision andambition, joining our passionate and energetic team to make a difference. For more information about our property please visit arlington-court-and-the-national-trust-carriage-museum What youll be doing As the Property Operations Manager for Arlington, youll be accountable for the day-to-day operational performance of the property, its visitor experience and oversee the delivery of the financial performance. As the line manager for ourhouse & collections teams, youll use your knowledge and experience to inspire them to develop and maximise their potential, looking for new opportunities to improve ways of working and presenting our offer. And as the line manager for our Visitor Experience,programming, and welcome teams, youll work with them to ensure exceptional standards of customer service, visitor enjoyment, and interpretation are delivered across the property. Youll also manage the gardens team working to present our gardens to the higheststandard whilst inspiring and engaging our visitors. A senior member of the Property Leadership Team and youll help design and plan the long term vision for the property. Who were looking for Wed love to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent leadership skills with experience recruiting and developing a team
  • Being a great communicator who can work collaboratively with various departments
  • A thorough understanding of a visitor business and what it takes to be successful
  • Demonstrable experience of innovative supporter engagement and creating dynamic partnerships and programming
  • Experience in day-to-day operational management
  • Experience in day-to-day financial performance management
  • Excellent understanding of customer service standards and how to inspire teams to deliver these consistently
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
