Antrim, County AntrimCirca £21,100 per annumFull-Time (working 37 hours a week) on a fixed term contract until 30th September 2022generally Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm but some evening work may be needed to meet the needs of the serviceGiving children and young people the foundations they need to thrive.The roleNEISS aims to support families when difficulties arise before the need for more intense services. NEISS seeks to address issues of concern, achieve sustainable change, promote capability and capacity within families to problem solve difficulties and coordinateperson centered, evidence based, early intervention for families with children 0-18 years old within Tier 2 of the Hardiker Model.NEISS is an outreach service working in families homes covering Larne, Carrick and Ballymena. It can include some early evening work to suit working parents.This is a highly rewarding role where you will be working closely with children and their families, learning about their strengths and challenges and putting together an assessment of their needs.Youll become a vital member of the team, skilled in providing a high level of professional practice using a wide range of short term (maximum 12 weeks) therapeutic interventions that are outcome focused, evidence based and maximise opportunity for change.Youll receive training in CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solihull Approach and Outcome Star Assessment to optimise your professional practice.You will make a difference by:- Working with families experiencing challenges.- Being creative in your approaches in engaging families and young people.- Keeping records which highlight intervention, progress and outcomes achieved and which will inform decision making on childrens and their families circumstances going forward.- Being skilled in overcoming the challenges in maintaining and developing effective working relationships with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children, young people and their families.- Providing reports to referrers which critically analyse progress and outcomes achieved and which will inform decision making on childrens and their families circumstances going forward.You will need:- Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or above or equivalent/related health, counselling or social care qualification.OR- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team providing services to families and children aged 0-18 years.AND- Good working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.- Skills in overcoming the challenges in maintaining and developing effective working relationships with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children, young people and their families.- Competence in the use of IT packages including MS Windows and Office along with email and internet and good record keeping.- The ability to travel easily throughout the Larne, Antrim, Carrick and Ballymena area.- Registration with NISCC or the willingness to register.The way we workWe work to make sure every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential.
