Trainee Lines Workers - Overhead Power LinesNationwide on sites across the UKAbout the roleHere at Babcock International, were looking to recruit multiple Trainee Lines Workers to join the team. You will be reporting to the Charge hand, and be responsible for assisting other Line Workers in the erection and refurbishment of overhead power lines.There are exciting opportunities within this role, for career development into Charge Hand, Foreman, Engineering or Project management positions.What do I need to do the roleYou must hold minimum GCSE Grade C and above (or equivalent) in English & Maths, and feel comfortable working at heights and in a physically demanding environment.You must have a minimum Cat B (car & light vehicle) valid driving licence. Category B+E (Car / light vehicle + Trailer or Semi-Trailer) and / or Cat C1 (Van & Commercial vehicle) would be an advantage.You will demonstrate good communication skills, and computer literacy.The below would be a distinct advantage but is not essential:* Basic understanding of engineering principles.* Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.* Understanding of OHL equipment and material.* Industry Knowledge.* Working in the Construction Industry or in an outside environment.What else do I need to knowYou will be required to work a 5 day week followed by a 7 day week so this will likely entail working away from home for a period of 12 days in a 14 day period.We are happy to talk about flexible working.
