Job Description

nmcn work in partnership and collaboration with our customers, to deliver all manner of projects in infrastructure, non-infrastructure and industrial projects across the UK & Channel Islands. Our specialist engineering and construction teams bring multi-sector innovation and technical skill through design to construction for large-scale water and waste water plants as well as projects in the industrial sector.Through our unique offering, providing services from feasibility and design, to construction and handover, our Water and Waste Water business provides ‘Full Asset Lifecycle Thinking’ across our projects. We ensure we are fully collaborative & supportive to our customers with innovative outcome-based solutions and an exceptional experience. We currently deliver infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for 10 of the largest national water sector companies.An opportunity has come up for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our Regional Water Business and our Water Major Project’s team.The Commissioning Engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver a quality service and product in line with the project goals by working with the site team. The role will include both upward and downward reporting within nmcn and the client at all times providing clear and precise direction at allWhat you’ll be doing day to day

  • Carryout the role of Commissioning Engineer working with the Commissioning Manager and the project team to strategically plan and prepare timely commissioning activities in line with the project programme
  • Making improvements to, and offering advice about, operational procedures.
  • Align the client’s direction and needs.
  • Ensuring that the key deliverables within each stage of the commissioning is being administered to the highest quality.
  • Ensuring allocated project deliverables and KPI`s - KPM`s are collaboratively achieved
  • Ensuring compliance to nmcn & client processes and procedures, making improvements to, and offering advice about, operational procedures.
  • Work closely with the client and the client team through final commissioning & handover.
  • Bring innovative ideas.
  • Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
  • ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
  • creating and carrying out test procedures.
  • investigating problems and diagnosing and repairing faults including troubleshooting.
  • liaising with installation/Project Manager & Engineers.
  • Where required supervising engineering and technical staff.
  • Writing reports and documentation including test plans and forms, SAT test criteria and data required for review.
  • providing technical support.
  • ensuring safe working conditions.
  • training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Teamworking skills.
  • Relevant technical expertise (for example in test, design, development and operations)
  • Good IT and analytical skills.
  • The ability to cope with shift work and unsocial hours, which are often required where equipment is in 24-hour operation.
  • The experience we’re looking for in a candidate
  • An industry applicable qualification
  • Water Industry knowledge is essential
  • A clear demonstrated understanding or process technology or the ability to articulate process engineering
  • Strong knowledge in Elec, Mech and or ICA including instrumentation and automation
  • Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture
  • Trustworthy and ethical approach, exercising discretion where required
  • Organised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence
