About The RoleClosing date: 8th OctoberLocation: This role would be covering Wales. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.Are you a policy or public affairs professional looking for a new opportunityWould you like to play a key part in influencing national decision makers across Wales to drive major, positive change in the dementia policy spaceThen this could be the role for you!Sitting within our National Influencing team, you will be part of a growing team, committed in bringing innovative, engaging, collaborative, and evidence-based influencing work.You’d be ensuring that political stakeholders are acting on the biggest issues affecting people living with dementia, working closely with other teams to ensure our work is integrated locally and nationally.While this role is predominantly focused on delivering national influencing activity in Wales through engagement with MSs and other significant national stakeholders, you’ll also be part of a fluid and flexible team that operates across boundaries and supports with our political work.Alzheimers Society have recently been named on theSunday Times Best Places to Work 2023!We have achieved excellent scores for workplace happiness, pride, and job satisfaction.   • Be motivated, ambitious, curious and naturally collaborative person.
  • Comfortable to challenge the status quo.
  • Ideally have a keen interest in politics and campaigning
  • Experience in working on the delivery of political or policy influencing strategies.
  • Ability to engage others politically, sharing your analysis, opinions, evidence and insight to inspire national politicians and decisionmakers to take action and improve the lives of people affected by dementia.
  • Able to identify the action that’s needed to prioritise dementia nationally, working with colleagues to plan, budget, and gather evidence to underpin all the work we do.
This role will include working closely with teams across Alzheimer’s Society and ensuring that the insight of people living with and affected by dementia is at the heart of all our political and Parliamentary engagement.Person specification
