Job Description

Building Inspector Vacancy Permanent Opportunity via BRCJobs: Diocesan Parsonage Inspector Location: Abergwili - West Wales (travel required and home working involved) Sector: Property Services - historical Salary: £45,528 Hours: 34.75 per week BRC are working with a client based in Carmarthenshire who are looking for an experience building surveyor to join their team. You will be part of a team that provides regular support and contact with colleagues across Wales.Main Responsibilities:

  1. Organising the maintenance, repair, and improvement of around 105 homes. This includes organising property for sale or acquisition, occasional new build projects and open market letting of vacant property.
  2. You will be the key advisor to the Board which oversees the strategy, budget, and management of the housing
  3. You will also provide support in developing integrated and shared professional and administrative support for property matters.
Job Requirements:
  • Chartered building surveyor or similarly qualified person with extensive practical experience in the building industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the diplomacy necessary to deal with sensitive and, sometimes, controversial matters
  • Experience of working through democratically organised procedures e.g., committee and board systems
  • Excellent communicator both written and oral with the ability to deliver reports
  • Proficient in IT skills, including Microsoft packages such as outlook, word and excel
  • Good financial acumen with particular skills in building project management
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, CDM regulations and other relevant statutory requirements
  • Experience of managing contractors, consultants, and agents
  • Must hold a current driving licence
