Job Description

Are you a teaching assistant with experience of working with teenagers looking for a new role in south ManchesterI am currently recruiting for a talented and reliable teaching assistant for a secondary school in Trafford, south Manchester.This is a full time temporary secondary teaching assistant role from September 2022 to December 2022 initially, paying up to £85 per day.The RoleTeaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning in a secondary schoolFive days a weekThe role will vary depending on the needs of individual students but will include working on the following areas.Communication and Interaction (including Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Condition)Cognition and Learning (including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxia)Social, Emotional and Mental Health (including Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder)Sensory and Physical (Visual impairment, Hearing impairment, Physical disability)Following the students Education Health Care Plan and working with their multidisciplinary team.The school are particularly interested in hearing from teaching assistants with experience of primary to secondary transition or working with lower ability year 7 students.The SchoolOfsted Outstanding academy since 2008Excellent facilities for teaching and learning.Mixed selective grammar school for students aged 11 to 18"Behaviour is exemplary Students are highly motivated, work hard and enthusiastically participate in all aspects of school life".The BenefitsFull time ongoing temporary role due to SEN fundingExcellent support from department and senior leadership teamCompetitive pay ratesTo join us and be successful in this secondary teaching assistant role, you will need to:

  • a minimum of six weeks experience of working with children aged 11- 16 supported by references
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Bachelors degree or teaching assistant qualifications
