Job Description

About the roleWere looking for an Appian Developer to join on a 6 month contract. Were a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, deliveringcomplex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security. As an Appian Developer, youll be part of the Applications Solution team where your focus will be on supporting and developing applications to be used by MoD. The team develops and maintains custom web applications based on Appian, C#, and Oracle APEX. ThisAppian Developer will be challenged by customer design and developing bespoke applications.This role can be based at Leicester, Bristol or Devonport.Roles and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Development Manager, the responsibilities of an Appian Developer include:

  • Working with BA and Appian Developer to gather and analyse customer requirements.
  • Design and develop technical solutions on the Appian BPM Suite based on the requirements gathered.
  • Design integration requirements with other third-party platforms.
  • Designing data models.
  • Work with the Appian Developer to define development standards for the project in adherence to best practices.
  • Performing frequent code reviews & ensuring quality of the overall delivery.
  • Be a point of contact for Appian development internally.
  • Planning on project releases
  • Work with the Test Team, BA and Architecture Teams.
Competencies:
  • Ideally a Degree or HNC level within a Computer Science, or related subject.
  • 2-3 years of experience in development of enterprise-level web applications using an object-oriented technology stack.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing BPM applications.
  • Good team player.
  • Fluent English communication and social skills to interact with a global customer base.
  • The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving Security Check (SC) clearance.
