Job Description

Hampshire Recruitment Services is delighted to recruit for a WEB DEVELOPER to join an expanding, highly regarded business in Alton. This is a permanent opportunity where you will be part of a forward thinking, innovative and progressive employer who prides their success on a structured yet creative work ethic.Monday to Friday - Office basedSalary £45,000paFull-time, permanent role, 37.5 hours per weekResponsibilities

  • Implement visual and interactive elements that users engage with through their web browser
  • Custom build websites
  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality
  • Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Drive continuous improvements to the B2C website
  • Project manage the deployment and maintenance across all group sites (multiple international locations)
  • Co-ordinate the IT activities across all joint venture companies
  • Liaise with other functions e.g., Business dev, Marketing, Product dev. to drive traffic and conversion to websites
  • Responsible for driving SEO site improvements through content managed changes
  • Developing and managing IT partnerships with third party suppliers
  • Updating & maintaining products and troubleshooting
  • Flexible approach to working, including working overtime if required
    • Experience
  • Knowledge and working experience with the WordPress CMS
  • Experience of working with WooCommerce
  • Understanding of SEO within the wider digital marketing mix including PPC, display, affiliates, and social media
  • Experience with different social networks
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Good communication skills
    • Advanced Skills
  • Experience of development and web languages (html, CSS, PHP, JS) and WordPress theme / plugin development.
  • WP Engine experience
  • Be up to date with emerging digital trends in in ecommerce and SEO
  • Experience with packages such as Adobe
