Safety Adviser - Dangerous GoodsLocation: Alton, GU34 2QR, HampshireSalary: Up to £44k, DOE + BenefitsContract: Full time,Hours: 08.30 - 17.00 Monday - FridayAre you an experienced Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, looking for a new full-time rolePelGar are classed as an essential product manufacturer and are working at full capacity.Due to continued growth, PelGar International Ltd is now recruiting for a Safety Adviser - Dangerous Goods working from Alton with travel to our Telford site.Safety Adviser - About the role:This role is responsible for delivering Dangerous Goods Safety advice to the company. In addition, the position holder will be responsible for the maintenance and generation of GHS safety data sheets for our global market, CLP advice and guidance for the labelling and packaging teams and update UK and EU poison centres.An overview of REACH compliance will also form part of the position, and related documents for our customers.Main Duties:Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser

  • Answer Dangerous goods questions.
  • Produce an annual Dangerous Goods Report
  • Produce Dangerous Goods notes when required.
    • Document Management
  • Compile new safety data sheets.
  • Amend current safety data sheets.
  • Use of GHS Professional IT system
  • UK and European Poison Centre notifications and updates
    • CLP
  • Advise labelling and packaging teams on current CLP regulations.
  • Check product labels for CLP compliance.
    • Other
  • Keep up to date with REACH regulations and monitor PelGar’s compliance.
  • Assist compiling data for COMAH assessments.
  • When required, produce Manufacturing Declarations for customers.
    • Budget responsibility
  • Capital projects
    • Any other reasonable duties or tasks.Safety Adviser - Key Skills, Experience and Attributes:• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.• Must have an up-to-date Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor Certificate• Comfortable with chemical and article classifications• Have experience authoring and interpreting Safety Data Sheets• Able to liaise with all levels of the organisation.• Good attention to detail.• Organised.Safety Adviser - Benefits:• Salary Up to £44k pa• 23 days holiday rising to 25 days after 2 years.• Medicash health Cash plan and BUPA Pension (after probation)About the Company:PelGar International is the leading British manufacturer of highly effective rodenticide and insecticide products for the control of public health and farming pests around the world.
