This broker is a decent size (currently 52 staff) and have grown impressively since their inception in 2009, and have further big, exciting and innovate plans to develop the business going forward.Due to these plans, they are now looking for someone to join them as Development Underwriter.The underwriting will be directly linked to the firm’s schemes offerings in some of the following industries; drainage contractors, electrical and air-conditioning contractors, cleaning contractors, etc, with the product lines being underwritten are primarily Liability led contractors business including CAR and Material Damage. As such someone with exposure to these types of business would be highly sought after. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, seeking new solutions to meet the needs of the clients and brokers, as well as supporting the renewal of current business. You will be regularly Liaising with the placing brokers throughout the underwriting cycle and policy period to ensure receipt of all necessary documents and info, preparing referrals for capacity providers agreement including discussing proposed actions and Liaise with capacity providers for referral and agreement when required. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:15pm.
